Winner 2026: Patrick Aebischer
Swiss neuroscientist, was EPFL president (2000-2016), elevating it to a top global research hub. He advanced at Brown University (1984-1992) from research scientist to associate professor, chairing artificial organs, biomaterials, and cellular tech. In 1992, he returned to Switzerland as professor of surgery and director of Surgical Research Division/Gene Therapy Center at CHUV.
