§ 1 Scope of the terms and conditions

These general terms and conditions govern the relationship between the participant and the Swiss Biotech Association (host and contracting party). The Swiss Biotech Association has commissioned bamconn GmbH, Berlin, Germany, as the logistics and marketing partner to manage the organization of the Swiss Biotech Day. For this purpose, bamconn GmbH acts as the “Swiss Biotech Day organization team” on behalf of the Swiss Biotech Association.

These terms and conditions become binding upon submission of the participant’s registration via the official online form and receipt of a written confirmation from the Swiss Biotech Day organization team. By registering, the participant confirms that all information provided is current and agrees to these terms and conditions.

Deviating terms and conditions of the participant shall not apply unless expressly confirmed in writing by the Swiss Biotech Association.

§ 2 Payment and services

  1. All registration fees are quoted excluding VAT. Applicable Swiss VAT will be added in accordance with Swiss law.
  2. All amounts are payable in Swiss Francs (CHF). Payments made in other currencies will be converted at the exchange rate applicable on the payment date.
  3. Participants agree to receive electronic invoices. These do not require signatures or digital certificates.
  4. Payment is due within 10 days upon receipt of the invoice and must be settled no later than prior to the start of the event.
  5. Discount or promo codes cannot be combined and are not applicable retroactively. Discounts apply only to the regular fee.
  6. Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer (within 10 days, without deductions).
  7. Registration is valid only after full payment is received. Participants may not attend the event or access event platforms until payment is complete.

§ 3 Cancellation policy

  1. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to: register@swissbiotechday.ch
  2. Cancellations received up to 30 days before the event are eligible for a refund minus a processing fee of CHF 100.
  3. Cancellations received less than 30 days before the event are non-refundable.
  4. Substitutions are allowed. A replacement participant from the same organization may be nominated. Changes must be requested in writing and are valid only upon confirmation.
  5. No-shows will be charged the full registration fee.
  6. Refunds will be processed after the event.

§ 4 General rights and liability

  1. The Swiss Biotech Association may amend these terms and conditions. Participants will be notified and must agree to the new terms by a given deadline. Non-acceptance may lead to cancellation of the registration.
  2. The Swiss Biotech Association may deny entry to participants who violate these terms or pose a security or operational risk.
  3. The Swiss Biotech Association reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event due to force majeure (e.g. war, natural disasters, pandemics) or due to low participation or speaker illness. Participants will be informed promptly. Paid fees may be refunded or credited toward future events. Further claims are excluded unless caused by gross negligence or intent.
  4. Registrations must be submitted via the official online registration form. An automated email confirmation does not constitute a binding agreement.
  5. Registration becomes binding only upon written confirmation by the Swiss Biotech Day organization team. All registrations are subject to approval.
  6. The Swiss Biotech Day organization team reserves the right to decline or terminate participation at its discretion, particularly if a participant’s involvement conflicts with the character of the event or is disproportionally represented.
  7. The Swiss Biotech Day organization team may reference participating companies in marketing and promotional activities, including social media and press releases.
  8. The Swiss Biotech Association and bamconn GmbH are not liable for participants’ individual outcomes or expectations (e.g. profit, data loss, missed opportunities), except in cases of gross negligence. In such cases, liability is limited to the amount paid.
  9. Opinions expressed by speakers, sponsors, or participants are their own and do not represent the Swiss Biotech Association or bamconn GmbH.
  10. bamconn GmbH endeavors to ensure the website and services are secure, available, and error-free. Known defects will be addressed promptly. No guarantee is made; liability for technical issues is excluded.
  11. Participants are solely responsible for the accuracy of data submitted in participant systems. bamconn GmbH assumes no responsibility for the correctness or use of such data.
  12. Linked third-party websites are outside the responsibility of bamconn GmbH.
  13. For partnering services, the Swiss Biotech Day organization team collaborates with Venture Valuation AG, Zurich. Their terms apply to partnering usage. Participants are responsible for their own data entries. Support is offered upon request.
  14. The Swiss Biotech Day organization team is only liable for proven damages caused by gross negligence.
  15. The Swiss Biotech Association and bamconn GmbH are not liable for damages caused to third parties.

§ 5 Photo, video and audio recordings

  1. Photos, videos and audio may be recorded during the event. By attending, participants consent to their use for promotional purposes.
  2. Details on data usage and privacy are available in the privacy policy.

§ 6 Copyright

  1. All materials (e.g. presentations, images, videos) are protected by copyright.
    Participants may use provided content for promotional purposes, provided proper credit is given. Any further reproduction, sharing, or commercial use requires prior written permission.
  2. Unauthorized recording or photography is prohibited.

§ 7 Closing provisions

  1. Should any clause be or become invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
  2. Place of fulfilment is Zurich, Switzerland.
  3. For disputes involving registered traders, public-law entities or special public funds, the court of jurisdiction is Zurich. The Swiss Biotech Association is also entitled to file claims at the participant’s place of business.
  4. For customers domiciled or residing outside Switzerland, Zurich is the exclusive place of jurisdiction.
  5. Swiss law exclusively applies. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded.
  6. If individual provisions are invalid or partially invalid, the remaining terms remain fully enforceable.
